# Number

A number block is a question type that allows respondents to enter a numeric value or quantity as a response, enabling them to provide numerical data or measurements in relation to the specific question being asked.

The Number block options are:

* **Require a response:** Toggle on/off to require respondents to submit an answer to this question block
* **Show description:** Toggle on/off to show/hide text descriptions. Add a text description to the blocks in order to provide additional context to a question block for respondents.
* **Min Value:** Enter a minimum number value for respondents to choose from
* **Max Value:** Enter a maximum number value for respondents to choose up to.
* **Text Placeholder:** Enter a text placeholder to display in the response box
