# Rank

For a ranking question, respondents are asked to order or prioritise a set of items or options based on their preference or importance.

The Rank block options are:

* **Require a response:** Toggle on/off to require respondents to submit an answer to this question block
* **Show description:** Toggle on/off to show/hide text descriptions. Add a text description to the blocks in order to provide additional context to a question block for respondents.
* **Limit rank selections:** Toggle on/off to enable limiting the number of rank selections respondents can make:
  * **No limit:** Respondents can make as many rank selections as there are choices
  * **Exact number:** Limit respondents to a specific number of rank selections
  * **Range:** Respondents can make rank selections in a range of choices (e.g. 1-3)
* **Randomise order:** Toggle on/off to enable/disable randomisation of the rank options.
* **Use drag and drop to rank:** Toggle on/off to enable/disable respondents dragging and dropping the rank choices in a list
  * **Enabled:** Once you've selected this, you'll find the interface in your survey for this block switch from a list into two columns that allow you to drag and drop the options into a preferences list. All the validation options remain available so you can make a Rank block a "required" question, you can randomise the presentation of the options, and you can require a specific number or responses or a range of response (e.g. "please rank between 1 to 4 of your favourite options").
