# Tag selector

The Tag Selector is where you can apply or remove tags for the submission and access the tag editor to manage all tags for the project.

## Open Tag Selector

To open the Tag Selector, click Tag Selector in the right hand panel of the Submission Reader overlay.

This will open a dropdown with all the project tags, grouped by folder.

To exit out of the Tag Selector view, click the back arrow next to Tag Selector.

To apply tags, they will need to be created in the Tag Configure menu. See [Tags](/docs/01-03-04-03-04__tags) for more info.

### Search

To quickly search for a specific tag, enter the name of the tag in the search bar in the Tag Selector.

### Selected Tags

If a submission has had a tag/s applied, the Tag Selector will indicate the number of applied tags. To quickly show the applied tags, click Show. This will show a dropdown with the applied tags. To remove a tag from the submission, click on the Tag name. To hide the applied tags view, click Hide.

### Folders

Tags will display in folders or “Tag Groups”. These are set up in the [Configure: Tags](/docs/01-03-04-03-04__tags) menu. To open a folder, click on the folder name or the > arrow. To collapse a folder, click on the folder name again or the down arrow. Tag folders will show the count of available tags on the right, and if any tags have been applied from that folder, a count of the applied tags from that folder will also display.

### Apply a tag

To apply a tag, open the Tag Selector and open the folder the tag is located in. Click on the name of the tag to apply it to the submission. A tick will appear next to the tag name and the tag label will show in the Submission Details, as well as the Selected Tags view in the Tag Selector.

### Remove a tag

To remove a tag, open the Tag Selector and open the folder the tag is located in. Click on the name of the tag to remove it from the submission. Alternatively, you can use the Selected Tags to quickly identify and remove a tag from the submission by clicking on the name of the tag you want to remove.

### Edit Tag (opens Tag Configure menu)

To open the Tags Configure menu where you can add and edit the available tags, click on the Edit Tags link from the Tag Selector:

This will open the tag configuration page. For more information on creating tags see [Configure: Tags](/docs/01-03-04-03-04__tags).
