To access the Field Filter in Filters through Analyse, click the Filter button, then click +Add next to Fields in the Filter menu. The Field Filter allows you to limit search results to specific text-based blocks or structured data fields within your survey.

Filter by Text Blocks

Open Fields Menu: Click +Add next to Fields to display the fields menu. Expand the Block List: Click the dropdown to view the available text blocks in your survey. Text blocks are labeled with “Long Text” in parentheses before the block title. Select a Text Block: Click on the block title to select it. Then, set your filter conditions. If you want to include only responses where this question was answered, choose “is not empty.” Save Your Filter: Once you’ve set your conditions, click Save. To apply multiple fields, repeat this process with other blocks. Apply the Filters: When ready, click Apply in the filter menu at the bottom right corner. The number of active filters will be shown next to the Filter menu. Deselect a Block: To remove a field, click the x next to the block title in the filter menu, then click Apply. View Updated Results: Close the filter panel to see your updated chart or visualisation.

Filter by Structured Data (Choice blocks)

Open Fields Menu: Click +Add next to Fields to display the fields menu. Expand the Block List: Click the dropdown arrow to reveal the full list of available blocks. Select a Choice-Based Block: Click on the required block to select it, then enter the matching choice criteria Save Your Filter: Once you’ve set your criteria, click Save. To add more fields, repeat this process with other blocks. Apply the Filters: When ready, click Apply in the filter menu at the bottom right corner. The number of active filters will be shown next to the Filter menu. Deselect a Block: To remove a field, click the x next to the block title in the filter menu, then click Apply. View Updated Results: Close the filter panel to see your updated chart or visualisation.

Removing Filters

To remove a field filter, click the x icon next to the filter in the Field Filter box. Click “apply” to confirm removal of the filter. Alternatively, select “x Clear” next to “Apply” in the bottom right hand corner of the Field Filter box. Tip: Remember to check the number of matching records in the bottom right of the Stage window once filters have been applied to check how many results are being included in the chart or visualisation.
