- Sort: Arrange the order of data in the chart
- Sort by default: Arrange data in default order
- Values (lo-hi): Arrange data from lowest numerical value to highest numerical value
- Values (hi-lo): Arrange data from highest numerical value to lowest numerical value
- Labels (a-z): Arrange data alphabetically by label a-z
- Labels (z-a): Arrange data alphabetically by label z-a
- Max Items Shown: Select from the dropdown to limit the max number of items shown on the chart
- Colours: Click to change the colours in the chart or visualisation. There are a range of colour choices within each of the following four colour group options:
- Category: the chart will use a distinct colour for each unique category or data group. This helps visually differentiate different categories without implying any specific order or relation between them.
- Sequence: the chart will use a sequence of colours in a gradual or linear progression. This is useful when you have ordered data or values that follow a progression, and you want to represent them with a visually continuous colour sequence.
- Cycle: the chart will cycle through a set of colours repeatedly for the data categories. This option is helpful when you have a larger number of categories and want the colours to repeat in a cycle to avoid overwhelming the chart with too many distinct colours.
- Diverge: The “Diverge” colour range is designed for visualising data that has a central point of reference (e.g., zero value) and diverges into positive and negative values. It uses different colours to represent positive and negative data, with a neutral colour at the reference point. This is particularly useful for highlighting positive and negative deviations from a central value in the data.
- Reverse colour scheme: Toggle on/off to reverse the order of the colour appearance and have the last colour in the series display first and vice versa.
- Series labels: Edit the display and title of series labels. For charts with a single data point (e.g. 1 count block selected) the series label will display as “Count” by default. For multiple data points the series labels will display as the “Group By” options. These labels can be edited in the “Series” tab.
- Check box: Click to show or hide the selected option in the chart. Please note for single data point “Count” deselecting the box will cause an error as there is no data to display without the count.
- Title: Edit the series label title for the selected option
- Colour option: Click on the coloured box to open a colour select window to apply a specific colour to the selected option.
Series
Edit the chart series, adjusting the colour display and modifying the chart’s data categories by selecting or deselecting specific categories to be included or removed from the chart. The “Series” tool allows you to customise how data is represented and organised in the chart, making it easier to analyse and visualise data based on different categories or data points. More series options will display for charts that have multiple data points as opposed to a single data point such as only one block selected in Config.
