Terms & Phrases dropdown: Click the dropdown to change the word input type for the word cloud.
- Terms & Phrases: identifies specific terms and phrases frequently mentioned in the survey responses. It helps identify recurring themes, popular topics, or significant concepts that emerge from the data.
- People & places: identifies names of individuals, organisations, or locations mentioned in the survey responses. It helps recognise key figures or geographical areas that are relevant to the survey topic.
- Nouns: captures common nouns found in the survey responses. It allows for an understanding of the objects, ideas, or entities frequently referenced by participants.
- Frequent words: highlights words that appear most frequently in the survey responses. By identifying these commonly used words, it helps uncover the prevailing sentiments, popular opinions, or significant keywords within the dataset. Recommended setting.
- Colours: Click to change the colours in the word cloud. There are a range of colour choices within four colour group options. See Series for more detail.

Orientation: Click the different options to change the orientation of the words in the word cloud
- Straight: Words will appear in a straight line level with the horizontal margin
- Slight Angle: Words will appear oriented to a 30 degree angle to the horizontal margin
- Right angle: Words will appear oriented to a 60 degree angle to the horizontal margin
- Perpendicular: Words will appear oriented to a 90 degree angle to the horizontal margin
- Plus: Words will appear in alternating straight and perpendicular fitted arrangement
- Star: Words will appear in a randomised layout using multiple orientation options
- Redraw: The redraw option will redraw the word cloud showing a slightly different layout each time. Use this to redraw the word cloud into a preferred layout within the applied settings.
- Lock draw layout word order: Toggle on/off to keep the starting position consistent across redraws.

Word layout: Change the appearance of the word layout
- Rounded: Layout the word cloud into a rounded (circular) shape
- Squared: Layout the word cloud into a squared (box) shape

Word scaling: Change the appearance of size difference between words in the word cloud
- None: No scaling of word sizes.
- Some: Slightly scale down size differences
- More: Scale size differences down by a lot
- Full: All words are scaled the same size

Range:
- Starting word: Enter a number to start the word cloud count from.
- Number of words to show: Select how many words to show in the word cloud
