A postcode block is a question type that prompts respondents to enter their postal code or suburb as a response, allowing the survey to collect geographical location data based on the postal codes provided by the respondents. This information can be useful for later data analysis looking at regional trends or segmenting respondents based on their geographic location. The Postcode block options are:
  • Require a response: Toggle on/off to require respondents to submit an answer to this question block
  • Show description: Toggle on/off to show/hide text descriptions. Add a text description to the blocks in order to provide additional context to a question block for respondents.
  • Enable suburb selection: Toggle on/off to enable/disable a dropdown list of suburbs appearing when a postcode is entered
  • Require suburb selection when a postcode is provided: Toggle on/off to enable/disable requiring respondents to select their suburb from the dropdown list. If disabled, respondents can enter their postcode numbers only (without suburb details).
  • Text Placeholder: Enter a text placeholder to display in the response box
Tip: If your survey would benefit from a choropleth map of respondent locations, including a postcode block in your survey means this data is available in Converlens’ Chart tab when responses are submitted.
